Post Construction Cleaning

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CLEAN?

It takes around 5-6 hours to clean an area of 2,000 square feet. Teams
typically range from 2 to 4 people per house

CONSTRUCTION CLEANING PHASES

WE GENERALLY DIVIDE THE CONSTRUCTION CLEANING INTO 3 PHASES. EACH ONE HAS
A DIFFERENT PRICE BECAUSE DIFFERENT SERVICES WILL BE OFFERED TO THE CLIENT.

  • The first phase, the Rough Clean, consists of removing the rough dirt
immediately after the construction is finished.
  • The second phase, Final Clean, consists of cleaning everything from the ceiling
to the floor, so to speak, and making the place presentable (sometimes houses are
for sale and will be visited, so they must be very well taken care of).
  • And finally, the third phase, Touch Up, which consists in doing a final cleaning
for those who will live in the residence. It’s a cleaning that prioritizes details and
reviews the entire house, to leave it spotless for the new residents or returning
    owners.

CHECKLISTS

  • Vacuum window frames to remove the dust from the construction.
  •  Cleaning the glass from the outside with a cloth. Wipe the entire window,
glass and frames, to remove the dust. If there are remnants of grout or
paint, we use blades (Gillette or others) carefully to remove. After
removing everything, we use a Glass cleaner all over the glass with a paper
towel and then use a dry paper towel to remove traces of the previous
paper. The process on the inside is the same.
  •  Removing all remnants of post-work mortar with the blade, starting with
the shower area. We apply chlorine to the entire area so that it can start
acting on the surfaces. Wash everything from the ceiling to the floor.
  •  In the dry areas we clean even the pipes and switches. Vacuum and wipe
with a damp cloth using a multipurpose product.
  •  Finish with the floor. First vacuum the floor, then with the blade we make
sure there is no mortar left. Wipe the floor with a multipurpose product and
right after, dry it with a clean cloth.
  •  Vacuum EVERYTHING. We dilute multipurpose cleaner in water and wipe
down every part of the stairs, handrail, frame, corners, and stairway floor.
Immediately after wiping with a damp cloth, dry the area with a dry cloth.
  • We clean the doors, closets, baseboards, frames, and sockets with a damp
cloth to remove all the dust and the hinges and any screws. Repeat the
    process if necessary.
  • Only clean the walls with a dry cloth.
  • Carpet floors: vacuum making a design with the carpet hairs. Vacuum the
    corners.
  • A solution of cold water and a very small amount of multipurpose product
to clean the floor is made. We pass another damp cloth with only cold
water if the wood is still dull then use a cloth lightly dampened with wood
wax such as Quick Shine or Bona to finish.
  • Vacuum the cabinets, their hinges and knobs.
  • Wipe the cabinets with a damp cloth (with a mixture of water and
multipurpose) and dry them right after.
  •  On the countertops and sink stones, we use only a damp cloth with a little
multipurpose product to avoid damage. Dry and then, on a paper towel,
drip a drop of water and wipe the stone to finish.
  • In the refrigerator, dishwasher or microwave it is only used a damp cloth
or paper towel, almost dry, from top to bottom. Immediately after, wiped
with a dry cloth. If there are fingerprints, we spray some stainless steel on
the damp cloth, wring the cloth to make sure there is no excess product
and wipe the refrigerator without rubbing or applying too much force.
  • On the stove, we wipe it with a damp cloth with a multipurpose cleaner, as
    it’s done on the stones.
  •  Vacuum everything.
  • We use a blade to scrape mortar stuck to the surfaces and vacuum again. If
there is something that does not come off with the blade, a sponge with
multipurpose or specific product to remove glue is used.
  • We make a solution with hot water; if the floor is made of wood we use
cold water, with a multipurpose product.
  • If the garage is clear, first we sweep it with a broom, then with a wet
cloth, because the floor is usually cement, and another humid cloth to
finish. The garage door is also cleaned. And remove dust from machines if
    there is any
  •  The floor is cleaned with a pressure washer, always pushing the dirt to the
outside and always using it in the direction of the wood. We also clean the
grids, if any, with a damp cloth and a multipurpose product
  • Are sweep and wiped with a cloth, cleaning the pilasters and light
fixtures. Pick up the trash and throw it away. Check the yard for trash.
